I went down to Houston and I stopped in San Antone
I passed up the station for the bus
Was trying to find me something but I wasn't sure just what
Man I ended up with pockets full of dust
So I went on to Cleveland and I ended up insane
Bought a borrowed suit and learned to dance
I was spendin' money like the way it likes to rain
Man I ended up with pockets full of cane

Oh my swe-eet Carolina, what compels me to go
Oh my swe-eet disposition, may you one day carry me home
I ain't never been to Vegas but I gambled up my life
Building newsprint boats I raced to sewer mains
Trying to find me something but I wasn't sure just what
Funny how they say that some things never change
Up here in the city, it feels like things are closin' in
The sunset's just my light bulb burning out
I miss Kentucky and I miss my family
All the sweetest winds they blow across the south

The first song I ever heard Ryan sing was "My Sweet Carolina"...and just like Sir Elton, I fell in love with it's beautiful lyrics and simple melody.  When I bought the album for myself and listened to each song carefully I instantly fell in love with the music.

Ryan's style from Whiskeytown to now is exactly what I had been looking for in today's music scene...a music that can't be catagorized....a little of everything rolled up....a little rock, a little country...some punk...and some bluegrass...along with a pinch of everything else...and the recipe is breathtaking.

I've spent the past 10 years listening mainly to Oasis and british guitar bands...the stereophonics, travis, charlatans uk, etc...hearing Ryan perform "Wonderwall" really sparked something inside me. Noel Gallagher even saw him perform it and he later told Ryan back stage that he had finally heard the song played right.

I finally got to see Ryan live on 10-14-02 ....what an amazing night it was...I was on the front row and in the middle of the show Ryan gave me a bunch of flowers....WOW...it was a great night of music and well lots of other stuff as you have probably heard in the papers. Ryan really did a wonderful job...you have to see him live!

"I'm just horsin' around, I can't help it," says Adams. "I'm looking for the good time. Sometimes the good time looks really threatening to someone else, but I'm a 27-year-old guy who sings and plays guitar and gets to travel around and do this kind of stuff. I think I'm doing pretty good...A lot of preparation goes into being this unprepared."
