-Born David Ryan Adams on the 5th of November 1974 in Jacksonville, North Caolina USA.

 

-Was in a punk band in high school called the Patty Duke Syndrome

 

-Moved to Raliegh, N.C. somewhere around this time

 

-After a heep of bad relationships Ryan turned to music that could embody his feeling more clearly...and also as he says "I started this damn county band because punk rock is too hard to sing".

 

-Started Whiskeytown in 1994 with Caitlin Cary, Phil Wandscher, Eric "Skillet' Gilmore and Steve Grothman.

 

-Whiskeytown put out a few great albums but dispersed later for many reasons....alcohol and drug use being one....Ryan states, "I mean we were called Whiskeytown!"

 

-Ryan however stayed popular with the fans and decided to go solo.

 

-He jammed along with Gillian Welch and David Rawlings

 

-He teamed up with Emmy Lou Harris along the way in a tribute to Gram Parsons.

 

-A split with girlfriend sparked him to complete his first solo album, Heartbreaker...and what a beauty it was...I'd actually like to thank her the next time she's around.

 

-The album did well....Elton fell in love with it and kinda took Ryan under his wing.

 

-Then Ryan released his second album, Gold and it soared...he showed up on MTV in a couple videos which I dunno is exactly a good thing but they didn't give him much air play so nothing was lost....

 

-Europe fell in love too and he sold out all his shows over there...then did a little American tour with Alanis.

 

-Released "Demolition"...Demo record...songs that hes been writing over the past couple years.

 

-Ryan is now on a tour with Tegan and Sara around the US and then he's hitting Europe...and Hopefully back in the US in January...
